So, has anyone encountered something similar? I tried to be as precise as possible, but if you need further information, just ask. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PIA several times, I've tried different versions of the software (79, 80 and 81) to no avail.

I have no other TAP drivers or VPN software installed on my system (I use to have TunnelBear, but I completely removed it). I've never had any problem with PIA on my regular computer, but I can't install it on my Asus notebook, I keep getting a 'Reinstall TAP driver' message. What is the VPN client that you're using Are you using any third-party antivirus If yes, try to disable it and then install the TAP driver. I have tried completely reinstalling PIA, and uninstalling OpenVPN TAP (Not even sure if PIA installed this, but I uninstalled it anyway just to check). It's the menu where all your drivers are listed and you can enable and disable them. To check, follow the steps below: Press Windows key + R, then type in winver. After a couple of minutes a message box shows "An error occurred installing the TAP device driver." After confirming and exiting the installer, the adapter appears as an "Unknown Device" in device manager and isn't available in the adaptersettings in the "network center" (I don't know the correct name for that since I'm on the German version). Unfortunately, the installer gets stuck at the following line: "Installing TAP (may need confirmation)." but there is no confirmation prompt for installing the driver. certain problems, such as reinstalling the network driver, submitting debug logs, and more.
I decided to reinstall the TAP driver and downloaded the latest version 9.21.1 from the OpenVPN website. That was a big win for PIA and their no-logging policy. I realised this as I tried to connect to an IPVanish server the software just wouldn't connect.

But suddenly (not sure if a Windows update was involved), the adapter stopped working. 10:80 in Windows 10: Launch an Administrator Command Prompt.

I had the TAP virtual driver installed and even after the upgrade everything worked fine. I can only add new ports but cant delete or edit any. So I was upgrading to Windows 10 recently from Windows 7 Home Premium.
